The Kimberly Ann Stone Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship foundation was established in January 2008 by Kim Stone's colleagues at Huntingtown Elementary School, Huntingtown, MD, with the goal of awarding four $1000 scholarships to graduating seniors (or high school graduates now in college) from each of Calvert County's four high schools. This award is also made possible through the generosity of friends and community members of Calvert County, MD.

This memorial fund was created to celebrate Kim's life, accomplishments, her character, and her excellence as a teacher. She is remembered as a leader among her peers, and for her passionate devotion to her students.

Kim Stone was a life-long resident of Calvert County, MD. Her teaching career began and ended at the elementary school she attended as a child, Huntingtown Elementary School. She also served as Vice-Principal at both Calvert and Appeal Elementary Schools in Calvert County, MD. Kim pursued a career in education, which was rooted in her love for children. This memorial fund was created to celebrate her life, her accomplishments, her character, and her excellence as a teacher. She is remembered as a leader among her peers, known for striving to make a difference in the lives of children and their families, and her selfless, passionate devotion to her students. In the wake of the void left by Kim's absense, this award seeks to assist young men and women in striving to continue to make a difference in the lives of children through the profession of teaching.
